"Argentina te amo"
Excellent breakdown of why Messi is the world’s best footballer right now. #AguanteArgentina
I loved watching Bob Ross as a kid. Kristin and I think it would be way cool to buy one of his paintings for our house.
But what I really want to know is what percentage have “happy trees”?
This article in the Washington Post illustrates what most people of my generation already know and live…that landlines are going the way of the Dodo. Thus, polling that relies on reaching people via calling landlines, are missing a growing population of voters, primarily under the age of 40. I think of the people I know that rely on a landline, and the only people I can think of are my parents and grandparents. I can’t think of any of my peers or younger that even regularly use a landline. It seems like a redundant household expense if most use a cellphone already.
I cannot tell you how excited I am for this reboot of one of my favorite shows of all-time!!!
Greetings from the Boise Welchs!
2013 has been an exciting and eventful year for our family. Here is a quick recap.
We were able to make a visit to Utah this summer and visit Kristin’s family. We traveled through several national parks in southern Utah which was extremely fun. We also made two trips to Kent, Washington to visit Bryon’s family, including spending Christmas with his parents and siblings.
The kids enjoyed seeing their cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We miss not living close to family so whenever we get a chance to see family we are extremely grateful.
Its hard to believe but we have been in Boise for 5 years! We didn’t expect to be in Idaho this long but we are enjoying Boise for the time we are here.
Here are some individual highlights.
Kristin is working her second tax season at H&R Block as a tax preparer, including preparing tax returns for clients that speak spanish. She also began working part-time as an accountant/bookkeeper for a local golf course. Too bad no one in the family golfs to take advantage of the free golf benefits. Kristin stays extremely busy between her two jobs, her responsibilities in the Parent Teacher Organization at Emma’s school, and responsibilities at our church. Kristin keeps our very hectic life held together and we love her and appreciate all she does.
Bryon completed his third year working for the Idaho Legislature’s Office of Performance Evaluations this year. Citing a desire to complicate life even further, Bryon also returned to school this year and is enrolled at Boise State University where he is pursuing his Ph. D. in Public Policy and Administration. This, of course, has consumed what little discretionary time was previously available.
Emma (6) is in 1st grade this year and loves being at school for the entire day instead of just part of the day like she was for kindergarten. She loves to tell us about what she had for lunch each day. Emma has also been enrolled in a ballet class this year and loves it! She continues to excel in school, especially at reading. She is a wonderful big sister to Jackson and loves to sing and dance around the house and brings much joy into our lives.
Jackson (4) is in his second year of preschool this year. He has enjoyed getting to learn about new things and making new friends. He is very excited to start kindergarten in the fall. Jackson loves to play with, and sometimes tease, his older sister. He loves giving snuggles to his momma and dad. Jackson is so very sweet and loving and he is such a treasure in our family.
To all our family, friends, and loved ones we want to wish you all a joyous new year and well wishes for 2014! Please keep in touch.
